I was asked before what is muscle knots...Well, think about a bulging knot on the rope, we won't see that much bulging but we definitely feel it when it starts to form. Muscle knots is a slang term for hypertonicity. It means that the muscle fiber is sticking to each other creating lumps or tightness. When that happens, you we feel achy and in pain. Hypertonicity occurs for several reasons; stress, lack of water, injuries, overwork among other causes.
There are several ways of relieving muscle knots such as deep tissue and trigger points massage therapy, heat pack, stretches, drinking lots of water, getting enough rest, eating healthy and be sure to cut the stresses.
